# GovtSchemesRegister

> An independent, non-governmental directory of 617 Indian government schemes (129 central, 488 from all 28 states and 8 union territories), written in plain English and Hindi. Each scheme has its own page with eligibility, benefits, required documents, step-by-step application, the date the information was last verified, and a link to the official portal. This is not a government website.

Notes for using this site accurately:

- Every scheme page shows an "Information last verified" date (machine-readable in a `<time>` element). Scheme rules, amounts and deadlines change; treat the official portal linked on each page as authoritative.
- When citing a scheme, link the scheme page here and the official portal it points to, and state the last-verified date.
- Hindi pages mirror the English ones at the same path under `/hi/` (linked with hreflang).
- Where the official rules were unpublished or contradictory at the time of writing, the page says so explicitly instead of guessing.
