What this scheme offers
Rather than a single cash handout, this scheme is built as a three-year escalating ladder designed to actually turn SHG members into entrepreneurs, not just recipients: ₹10,000 in year one as seed capital, ₹25,000 in year two split between a bank loan and a state grant, and ₹50,000 in year three — around ₹47,500 total across grant, subsidy and loan per beneficiary. Renamed from Lakhpati Baideo, drawing on the wider 'Lakhpati Didi' ambition of turning every SHG member into a woman earning at least a lakh a year. Eligibility carries real conditions attached — a cap on number of children, and a requirement that the woman's own daughters be attending school — reflecting the scheme's dual goal of economic empowerment and social outcomes.
