What this campaign offers
Launched by the Prime Minister on National Sports Day (29 August) in 2019, Fit India Movement runs several participation programmes: the Fit India School/College Certification, recognising institutions that meet defined physical activity and infrastructure benchmarks (rated 1 to 3 stars); the Fit India Freedom Run, an annual mass participation running event open to anyone, tracked via the MyFitnessIndia app; workplace fitness challenges encouraging organisations to build activity into the working day; and ongoing content and campaigns promoting yoga, traditional sports, and simple at-home fitness routines. The movement doesn't provide direct cash benefits — its value is in resources, events, recognition, and cultural momentum toward more active daily habits.
