Chandigarh Social Security Pension (Old Age / Widow / Disability)

₹1,000 a month across three linked pension streams run by the Department of Social Welfare, Women and Child Development.

What this scheme offers

Chandigarh runs three parallel pension streams at exactly the same flat rate, which makes the underlying logic easy to describe even though the eligible groups are quite different: ₹1,000 a month for residents 60 and above (Old Age Pension), for widows and destitute women (Pension to Widows and Destitute Women), and for persons with disabilities (Pension to Disabled Persons). All three are disbursed monthly through Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts, with no cash counter or intermediary involved. What's worth knowing plainly: Chandigarh MP Manish Tewari raised in Parliament that these rates haven't been revised since 2016, and the government's own reply confirmed the Administration hadn't even sent a proposal to the Centre to increase them — so the ₹1,000 figure reflects a genuinely long-unrevised rate, not a recently updated one.
