What this scheme offers
Tribal settlements in Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu often start from a genuine infrastructure gap compared to the rest of the UT — a gap that general rural development spending doesn't always close on its own. The Tribal Area Component is a dedicated budget line specifically for these areas, funding schools, health sub-centres, water supply, sanitation and irrigation, targeted infrastructure investment rather than a share of a broader pool that tribal areas would have to compete for.
Who is eligible
- Villages or settlements in designated tribal areas of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu — this is area-based infrastructure investment, not an individual-application scheme.
Documents required
- None for individuals — infrastructure is planned and executed by the Tribal Welfare Department
How to apply
- No individual application — infrastructure is planned and built directly by the Tribal Welfare Department in designated tribal areas.
- If your village is in a tribal area but hasn't received expected infrastructure (school, health sub-centre, water supply), raise it with your local Panchayat or the Tribal Welfare Department.
- Contact the Tribal Welfare Department for the current status of infrastructure projects in your area.
