What this scheme offers
For BPL households in Karnataka that don't already have an LPG connection — including some that fall outside PM Ujjwala's specific criteria — Anila Bhagya provides a free connection, a double-burner stove, and two initial cylinder refills, aimed at the same shift away from firewood and kerosene that Ujjwala targets nationally, but reaching households the central scheme's eligibility rules leave out.
Who is eligible
- BPL family in Karnataka.
- No existing LPG gas connection in the household.
- Meets the income/ration-card criteria prescribed by the Food and Civil Supplies Department.
Documents required
- BPL card / ration card
- Aadhaar card
- Address proof
- Bank account details, where DBT components apply
How to apply
- Apply through your nearest Fair Price Shop / ration dealer or the Food and Civil Supplies Department office.
- Submit your BPL card and identity documents confirming you don't already have an LPG connection.
- Once approved, the connection, stove and first two refills are arranged through an empanelled gas agency.
- Subsequent refills are purchased at the regular market rate (with applicable central subsidy, if eligible under Ujjwala separately).
