What this scheme offers
The Chief Minister's State Disability Pension Scheme (CMDPS) is a Sikkim government pension of ₹1,500 a month for persons with a disability of 40% or more. It sits beside the central Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme, which pays ₹2,000 a month, shared by the Centre and the state, to people from below-poverty-line households aged 18 and above with a disability above 80%. The state scheme fills the gap: it has no age restriction, it covers a disability of 40% and above certified by the medical authorities set up for the purpose, and it is meant for people who are not covered under the central scheme. It is fully funded by the state, and registration is online on the state's pension portal.
