Chief Minister's Self Employment Assistance Scheme (CMSEAS)

Financial support for Sikkim residents to start self-employment ventures, distributed through the CM's own direct outreach events.

What this scheme offers

Sikkim's terrain means a genuinely large share of the population lives well outside Gangtok, and a welfare scheme that only distributes benefits at a central office effectively excludes anyone who can't easily make that trip. CMSEAS is delivered with that reality in mind — financial support to start self-employment ventures, distributed not just through occasional camps but via 'Connect to CM,' a first-of-its-kind video-conference platform launched in March 2026 linking the Chief Minister's office directly to 34 Block Administrative Centres across the state, so beneficiaries from DESME BPL and other economically weaker categories can receive assistance without travelling to the capital.
