What this scheme offers
A fishing boat is a one-time capital purchase, but keeping it actually fishing means an ongoing stream of smaller costs — nets wear out, gear needs replacing, equipment needs maintaining. Launched in June 2026, this scheme covers exactly that recurring layer of expense with a subsidy on essential fishing inputs, complementing the Administration's separate, longer-running subsidy for the boats themselves rather than duplicating it.
