What this scheme offers
The Andaman & Nicobar Islands Disability Allowance Scheme, amended in 2018, pays ₹2,500 a month into the bank account of a person with a disability of 40% or more, starting the month after sanction. The listing sets no income ceiling and no upper age limit; a child of one month or more can be covered. The person must be a permanent resident of the Islands or have lived there for more than 10 years at the time of applying, must not receive other financial assistance or allowances, and must not be employed — the allowance stops if the person gets a job. Applications are made offline through the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) office.
