What this scheme offers
Pravasandhra Bharosa Bima is a low-cost insurance scheme run by the Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society for people from Andhra Pradesh who work or study abroad, launched by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in Dubai. For an enrolment fee of ₹550 for three years (employees and migrant workers) or ₹180 for one year (students), both renewable, the insured gets ₹10 lakh for accidental death or permanent disability, up to ₹1 lakh for medical expenses from injury or sickness, and a one-way economy air ticket with an attendant if they die, become permanently disabled or cannot continue work or studies because of sickness or injury. If the insured dies in an accident, family medical cover of up to ₹50,000 is available for the spouse and the first two dependent children up to age 21. Enrolling does not affect any other government benefit.
