Talliki Vandanam Scheme

Annual financial support paid directly to a mother's bank account, to help keep her child in school — Andhra Pradesh's current-government successor to the earlier Jagananna Amma Vodi scheme.

Note: if you previously received Jagananna Amma Vodi, this scheme is its replacement under the TDP-led state government elected in 2024. Confirm your current enrolment status if your payments have changed or paused.

What this scheme offers

Talliki Vandanam ("salute to the mother") provides annual financial assistance to the mother or legal guardian of a school-going child in Andhra Pradesh, aimed at offsetting the costs — uniforms, books, transport, and incidental expenses — that can otherwise push low-income families toward pulling a child out of school. The amount is credited via Direct Benefit Transfer directly to the mother's Aadhaar-linked bank account, reinforcing her role in her child's education rather than routing the payment through the school or another family member. Eligible households are generally identified through their Rice Card (the state's primary welfare-eligibility card), similar to how many AP schemes are targeted.

Who is eligible

  • Mothers or legal guardians of children enrolled in a recognised school in Andhra Pradesh.
  • Household must hold a valid Rice Card (white ration card), the standard eligibility marker for most AP welfare schemes.
  • Specific income and other conditions apply per the scheme's official notification — confirm current criteria before applying.

Documents required

  • Rice Card (white ration card)
  • Aadhaar card of mother/guardian, linked to bank account
  • Child's school enrolment certificate
  • Bank account details
