NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme

Monthly pension for Andhra Pradesh's elderly, widowed, disabled, and other vulnerable groups — the current state government's replacement for the earlier YSR Pension Kanuka scheme, with increased amounts.

Note: if you're searching for "YSR Pension Kanuka," this scheme replaced it in June 2024, following Andhra Pradesh's change of state government to the TDP-led NDA coalition under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Existing pensioners were transitioned into this scheme.

What this scheme offers

NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme covers a broad range of vulnerable groups with category-specific monthly amounts: old-age pensioners, widows, persons with disabilities (including those with higher-severity disabilities receiving enhanced amounts), single women, weavers, toddy tappers, fishermen, transgender persons, persons with HIV/AIDS, and traditional artists, among others. Monthly amounts range roughly from ₹4,000 for standard categories up to ₹15,000 for the highest-need disability category, an increase over the amounts previously paid under YSR Pension Kanuka. Payments are made directly to beneficiaries, historically through doorstep delivery in many areas via the volunteer/secretariat system, alongside standard bank transfer.

  • Household income must fall within the scheme's notified limits (varies by category — check current notification).
