What this scheme offers
PM-KMY is a contributory pension scheme: you pay a small monthly amount — between ₹55 and ₹200, depending on your age at entry — into the fund between the ages of 18 and 40, and the government matches your contribution rupee-for-rupee into the same pension fund. From age 60 onward, you receive a guaranteed minimum pension of ₹3,000 every month. If the farmer dies after starting to receive the pension, their spouse is entitled to 50% of the pension as a family pension. Farmers already enrolled in PM-KISAN can have their PM-KMY contribution auto-debited from their PM-KISAN installments, avoiding a separate payment.
