What this scheme offers
Nai Manzil ("new destination") targets minority-community youth — including those educated only in community institutions like madrasas — who dropped out of the formal schooling system. It has two linked components: an Education component, which helps candidates earn formal certification through the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) or a State Open School, at either Class 8 (OBE Level 'C') or Class 10 (Secondary Level) equivalent; and a Skill Training component, a minimum 3-month, NSQF-aligned course covering soft skills, basic IT and basic English, with priority given to courses at NSQF Level 3 or above for better job prospects. Funds for implementing organisations are released in three installments — on project approval, on progress, and on completion with audited verification. Since launch, over 6.5 lakh minority youth have received skill training under the scheme.

How to apply
- Look for a Nai Manzil-implementing organisation active in your area — a mobiliser or NGO partner typically conducts outreach at the community level.
- Register through the scheme's online MIS portal, either directly or with a mobiliser's help, providing your identity, age and BPL documents.
- Once selected, begin the education component (NIOS-based Class 8 or 10 equivalent certification) alongside or before the skill training.
- Complete the minimum 3-month skill training course in your chosen trade, aligned to NSQF standards.
- The implementing organisation supports job placement after you complete both components.
- Common Service Centres (CSCs) can also help with registration and information about active batches near you.
