PM Vishwakarma Yojana

End-to-end support for India's traditional artisans and craftspeople — recognition, paid skill training, a toolkit grant, and collateral-free loans, across 18 trades.

What this scheme offers

PM Vishwakarma bundles four kinds of support for artisans working in 18 traditional trades — carpenters, blacksmiths, potters, goldsmiths, cobblers, tailors, weavers and more. Beneficiaries get a PM Vishwakarma Certificate and ID card for formal recognition; free basic (and later advanced) skill training with a ₹500/day stipend; a ₹15,000 toolkit incentive as an e-voucher to buy improved tools after skill verification; and access to collateral-free loans — up to ₹1 lakh in the first tranche at 5% interest (repayable in 18 months), followed by up to ₹2 lakh in a second tranche (30 months) after successful repayment. An incentive of ₹1 is also paid per digital transaction to encourage digital payment adoption.
