Chhattisgarh Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board

Registration with Chhattisgarh's construction workers' welfare board gives masons, labourers and other construction workers access to accident and death insurance, a pension, and maternity benefits, plus education-specific support through the Mukhyamantri Naunihal Chatravriti Yojana (a scholarship for registered workers' children, revised and renamed in October 2022, with girls receiving higher amounts than boys) and Vishesh Shiksha Sahaayata Yojana, which specifically funds the education of children whose construction-worker parent has died.

What this scheme offers

Registration with Chhattisgarh's construction workers' welfare board gives masons, labourers and other construction workers access to accident and death insurance, a pension, and maternity benefits, funded through a cess collected on construction projects across the state. The Board runs two education-specific schemes worth knowing separately: Mukhyamantri Naunihal Chatravriti Yojana gives registered workers' children an annual scholarship that scales with education level, with girls receiving a higher amount than boys to specifically encourage girls' education — renamed and revised from the original Naunihal Chatravriti Yojana in October 2022. Vishesh Shiksha Sahaayata Yojana addresses a harder case: it funds the education of children whose construction-worker parent has died, applied for using either parent's registration card.
