What this scheme offers
Cooking-fuel costs are a genuine, recurring line item in any household budget, and for lower-income Goan families, a rising LPG price can mean real strain three or four times a year every time a cylinder needs replacing. Launched by CM Pramod Sawant in September 2026 alongside Union Minister Shripad Naik, Goa Ujjwala Yojana gives eligible households — particularly women — financial assistance equivalent to the cost of 3 domestic cylinders annually, backed by a ₹100 crore state provision. The government has explicitly framed the launch as a promise delivered rather than merely announced, distinguishing it from proposals still awaiting implementation.
