What this scheme offers
In Gujarati tradition, the mameru is a gift a maternal uncle gives at his niece's wedding — a gesture of family support at a genuinely expensive moment. Kuvarbainu Mameru Yojana borrows that idea and turns it into a state benefit: ₹10,000 in cash or household articles for the wedding of a Scheduled Tribe girl in Gujarat, aimed at easing wedding costs for tribal families who are disproportionately likely to be economically stretched by the expense.
