What this scheme offers
'GRUH' stands for Gujarat Rural Urban Housing, and the scheme targets the reality of a fast-urbanising state: EWS, LIG and middle-income families increasingly priced out of housing in growing cities. It converges with the central PM Awas Yojana subsidy — up to ₹2.67 lakh for EWS buyers and ₹2.35 lakh for LIG buyers — while requiring the beneficiary to put down a modest amount of their own (₹50,000 for EWS, ₹1 lakh for LIG), which keeps the scheme oriented toward genuine ownership rather than a pure handout, and banks, private developers and the implementing agency jointly identify beneficiaries.
