What this scheme offers
Most welfare schemes are designed around a predictable, ongoing need — old age, disability, a child's education. Dayalu Yojana is built for the opposite kind of situation: a sudden, unexpected death or accident that leaves a family reeling with no time to plan. Running since 1 April 2023, it provides financial assistance when a family member aged 6 to 60 dies accidentally or unexpectedly, with over ₹1,076 crore already reaching more than 28,644 beneficiary families as of the most recent disbursal figures — CM Nayab Singh Saini has personally overseen several rounds of direct fund transfers to beneficiaries.
