What this scheme offers
BJP promised ₹2,100 a month to women ahead of the October 2024 Haryana election, and the government followed through with Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana, launched 25 September 2025 — the timing chosen deliberately for Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay's birth anniversary. CM Nayab Singh Saini, who also holds the Finance portfolio, earmarked ₹5,000 crore for the scheme in the 2025-26 budget and has publicly framed fulfilling it as proof the BJP keeps its promises where other parties, in his telling, don't. The scheme has evolved since launch in two notable ways: the family income ceiling was raised from ₹1 lakh to ₹1.80 lakh in September 2026, bringing roughly 17 lakh additional women into eligibility, and the monthly payment structure was changed so that ₹1,100 comes as direct cash while ₹1,000 goes into a five-year recurring deposit — building a modest savings cushion alongside the immediate support rather than paying out the full amount as pure spending money.
