What this scheme offers
Himachal Pradesh's Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana pays eligible women ₹1,500 a month — ₹18,000 a year — directly into their bank account. It began on 25 February 2024 in Lahaul-Spiti, where it started as a pilot for women in Spiti, and is being extended to the rest of the state in phases. That phasing matters: whether you can apply today depends on whether your area has been taken up. The statewide notification of March 2024 excludes income-tax payers, family members of government employees, central and state pensioners, and employees of panchayati raj institutions, local bodies and public-sector undertakings.
