What this scheme offers
A monthly cash transfer like Maiya Samman Yojana solves an immediate income problem, but it doesn't by itself build a lasting source of earning. Maiyan Balwan ('mother's strength') is designed as the next step for the same women — support to start small businesses of their own, moving from income support toward genuine livelihood-building. It was launched by CM Hemant Soren as an explicit complement to the cash-transfer scheme rather than a replacement for it.
