Mathrupoorna Yojana

One free, hot, nutritionally balanced meal a day at the Anganwadi centre for pregnant and lactating women in Karnataka, along with iron-folic acid tablets, eggs or milk, and a ₹5,000 cash incentive paid in three instalments tied to antenatal visits and delivery.

What this scheme offers

Malnutrition in pregnancy often isn't about a total lack of food — it's about a lack of the right food at the right time, and a household budget that doesn't stretch to eggs or milk every day. Mathrupoorna addresses that directly: every pregnant and lactating woman in Karnataka can get one full, hot, balanced meal a day at her local Anganwadi centre, alongside iron-folic acid tablets and eggs or milk, plus a ₹5,000 cash incentive released in three instalments as she completes antenatal check-ups and delivers.

Who is eligible

  • Pregnant or lactating woman resident in Karnataka.
  • Registered at a local Anganwadi centre.
  • No income restriction — the meal component is universal for registered pregnant/lactating women.

Documents required

  • Aadhaar card
  • Pregnancy registration at the Anganwadi
  • Bank account details (Aadhaar-seeded), for the cash component

How to apply

  1. Register your pregnancy at your nearest Anganwadi centre as early as possible.
  2. Visit the centre daily (or as scheduled) to receive the free hot meal, IFA tablets and eggs/milk.
  3. Attend the antenatal check-ups tracked by the Anganwadi worker — the cash instalments are tied to these milestones.
  4. The ₹5,000 cash incentive is credited via DBT across three instalments as you complete registration, check-ups and delivery.
