What this scheme offers
Gaon Ki Beti Yojana is a small but steady scholarship for rural girls who do well at school and carry on to college. A girl from a village in Madhya Pradesh who scored at least 60% in Class 12 and joins an undergraduate course receives ₹500 a month for ten months, which comes to ₹5,000 an academic year, paid into her bank account. It is open to every category, SC, ST, OBC and General, and there is a parallel scheme for urban girls (Pratibha Kiran). Only a limited number of awards are made each year — a figure of about 5,000 students has been reported — so applying early on MP Scholarship Portal 2.0 matters.
