What this scheme offers
CMEGP is Maharashtra's own equivalent of the central PMEGP scheme, run in parallel to widen the pool of entrepreneurs who can access subsidised credit. New micro and small enterprises can get a bank loan of up to ₹50 lakh for manufacturing projects or ₹20 lakh for service-sector projects, with a government subsidy of 15–35% on the project cost depending on the applicant's category (general, SC/ST/OBC/women/ex-servicemen etc.) and whether the unit is set up in a rural or urban area. The subsidy effectively reduces how much of the loan the entrepreneur has to repay, making the real cost of starting up substantially lower than the headline loan figure suggests.
