What this scheme offers
LPG cylinder refills are a recurring cost that hits BPL and Antyodaya households hardest right around the same festivals everyone else is spending more too — Holi and Diwali. This scheme times three free cylinder refills a year to land around those occasions plus one more, easing exactly the moment household budgets are most stretched. Rather than handing over a physically free cylinder at the gas agency, the cost is credited back to the beneficiary's bank account as DBT after a normal paid refill — so the mechanics resemble PM Ujjwala's subsidy model more than a walk-in freebie.
Who is eligible
- BPL (Below Poverty Line) or Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) ration card holder in Maharashtra.
- Existing LPG connection (own or Ujjwala) registered to the household.
- Ration card linked to Aadhaar and bank account for DBT.
Documents required
- Ration card (BPL/AAY)
- Aadhaar card
- LPG connection consumer number
- Bank account details (Aadhaar-linked)
How to apply
- No separate application in most cases — if your ration card is correctly linked to your LPG connection and Aadhaar-seeded bank account, the DBT is processed automatically after each eligible refill.
- If you're not receiving the credit despite being eligible, visit your ration shop or LPG distributor to confirm your ration card and Aadhaar linkage are correct.
- Check MahaDBT (mahadbt.maharashtra.gov.in) for scheme-specific registration if your district requires it.
- Keep your gas agency updated with your current Aadhaar-linked bank account to avoid missed credits.
