What this scheme offers
Most pension schemes are built around a single category — old age, widowhood, disability. Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Anudan Yojana is broader by design: it exists for anyone in Maharashtra who genuinely has no one and nothing to fall back on — the destitute, orphans, widows, elderly without family support, people with disabilities, and transgender individuals. Eligible beneficiaries receive ₹1,500 every month, transferred directly to their bank account, with no requirement to fit neatly into any one narrower welfare category.
