What this scheme offers
Mukhyamantri Vayoshri Yojana is a one-time grant of ₹3,000, not a monthly pension — a point several websites get wrong. The money is paid by direct transfer and is meant for two things: buying an assistive aid that helps with age-related weakness, such as spectacles, a knee brace or a hearing aid, or taking part in physical and mental wellness activity at a government-registered yoga or mental-health centre. It was launched in February 2024 for senior citizens aged 65 or above whose family income is within ₹2 lakh, with a target of about 15 lakh beneficiaries.
Who is eligible
- Resident of Maharashtra who had completed 65 years of age by 31 December 2023.
- Annual family income of up to ₹2 lakh.
- Proof of eligibility: a certificate from the district authority, or a BPL ration card, or proof that you receive an old-age pension under IGNOAPS or another state or central pension scheme.
- An Aadhaar-linked bank account; if you do not have Aadhaar, another identity document is accepted.

- Age proof
- Income proof, BPL ration card, or proof of an existing old-age pension
