What this scheme offers
The Mukhyamantri Sampoorna Pushti Yojana (MSPY) is a five-year nutrition programme approved by the Odisha Cabinet at a cost of ₹3,354.40 crore from 2023-24, launched on 15 September 2023. It works through Anganwadi centres and has three strands. Adolescent girls aged 15 to 19 across the state get eggs, ladoos and nutrition supplements, with Kishori Melas to screen at-risk girls for body weight and anaemia. Pregnant and lactating women get additional take-home ration made of nutrient-rich food products such as millets, with extra eggs. Children under six who are severely or moderately acutely malnourished or severely underweight get augmented take-home ration and extra eggs, and severely malnourished children can be given full meals; one component gives 3 kg of ration and 30 eggs a month for 112 days. It is nutrition in kind, not cash.
