What this scheme offers
Registration with Punjab's construction workers' welfare board gives masons, labourers and other construction workers access to accident and death insurance, a pension, education support for children and maternity benefits — funded through a cess collected on construction projects across the state, for a workforce that otherwise has almost no institutional safety net of its own.

- Engaged in building or construction work in Punjab.
- Age typically 18 to 60 years.
- Worked a minimum number of days in construction in the preceding period, as prescribed by the Board.
