What this scheme offers
Two sets of uniforms and a sweater might sound like a small thing, but for a family with two or three school-age children in government schools, replacing worn-out uniforms every year is a real, recurring expense — and in some families, the cost of a uniform has historically been cited as a reason a child doesn't attend regularly. Rajasthan's free uniform scheme removes that cost entirely for around 70 lakh students at government schools statewide, distributing fresh sets each academic year rather than a one-time issue.
Who is eligible
- Student enrolled at a Rajasthan government school.
- No income test — universal for all enrolled students at covered schools.
Documents required
- School enrollment record (maintained by the school)
How to apply
- No individual application needed — schools compile the list of enrolled students each academic year.
- Uniforms and sweaters are distributed through the school at the start of or during the academic year.
- If your child's school hasn't distributed uniforms yet, check with the school administration or Block Education Office.
