Shri Annapurna Rasoi Yojana (Rajasthan)

A plate of food for ₹8 at Annapurna Rasoi kitchens across Rajasthan, open to everyone without registration — the renamed Indira Rasoi, with the state adding ₹22 for every plate served.

What this scheme offers

Shri Annapurna Rasoi Yojana serves a plate of fresh, cooked food for ₹8 at kitchens across Rajasthan, with the state paying the other ₹22 of the cost per plate. It is the renamed Indira Rasoi Yojana — the name changed on 6 January 2024 — which had begun on 20 August 2020, itself a revival of the original Annapurna Rasoi launched in 2016. Nobody has to apply: the food is for anyone who walks in. A typical plate carries dal, vegetables, roti and pickle. Kitchens in municipal corporation areas serve 200 plates at lunch and 200 at dinner, and those in smaller towns 100 and 100. The kitchens are run with local organisations, and individuals or groups can sponsor meals or apply to run one.
