What this scheme offers
A school bag, two sets of uniforms, textbooks, notebooks and other stationery might sound minor individually, but together they represent a real back-to-school cost that repeats every single academic year for families with children in government schools. The Education Kits Scheme removes that cost entirely, distributing a complete kit to every enrolled student at Telangana government schools — a straightforward administrative programme that has continued through the change of government because it isn't tied to political branding the way cash-transfer guarantees are.
Who is eligible
- Student enrolled at a Telangana government school.
- No income test — universal for all enrolled students at covered schools.
Documents required
- School enrollment record (maintained by the school)
How to apply
- No individual application needed — schools compile the list of enrolled students each academic year.
- Kits are distributed through the school at the start of or during the academic year.
- If your child's school hasn't distributed kits yet, check with the school administration or Mandal Education Office.
