What this scheme offers
Aarogyasri predates Telangana itself — the scheme originated in the combined Andhra Pradesh in the mid-2000s and continued under its established name after the 2014 state split, without the political rebranding that similar schemes have gone through elsewhere. BPL families in Telangana get cashless treatment up to ₹5 lakh a year for listed procedures at a network of over 3,000 empanelled government and private hospitals, covering a wide range of surgical and medical care that a BPL household would otherwise have to pay for entirely out of pocket.
Who is eligible
- BPL family in Telangana holding a white ration card or equivalent eligible status.
- Registered on the Aarogyasri health card system.
- Treatment sought for a procedure listed under the scheme's package list.
Documents required
- Aarogyasri health card, or Aadhaar for verification
- Ration card
- Referral from a government facility, where the procedure requires one
How to apply
- Confirm your family's Aarogyasri card status at your local MeeSeva centre or via the official Aarogyasri portal.
- For treatment, visit an empanelled government or private hospital and register under the scheme.
- The hospital verifies your eligibility and the procedure against the scheme's package list.
- Approved treatment is cashless — the hospital settles the bill directly with the trust.
- Check the current package list and coverage cap on the official portal, as these are periodically revised.
