What this scheme offers
The Mukhyamantri Konya Bibaha Yojana (MKBY) gives a one-time ₹50,000 to a girl from an Antyodaya family in Tripura when she marries, to ease the burden of the wedding and discourage child marriage. It was introduced in the 2025-26 state budget and notified by the Social Welfare and Social Education Department in September 2025. The bride must be at least 18, her family must hold an Antyodaya (AAY) ration card, and the marriage must be registered. Applications are offline: the form is collected from the Child Development Project Officer's office and submitted there with proof of age and bank details, and the Panchayat or the sub-divisional magistrate's office also accept them. A minister handed over a ₹50,000 cheque in February 2026, and the Social Welfare Minister said that about 45 beneficiaries had been paid by mid-2026.
