What this scheme offers
Under the Mukhyamantri Samajik Sahayata Prakalpa, Tripura's government pays a monthly pension of ₹2,000 to vulnerable women, including widows, deserted women and unmarried women in need of special care. The state's gender budget for 2025-26 describes the scheme and gives the scale of the existing pension rolls: about 59,000 widow pensioners, close to 4,000 deserted women, around 2,000 unmarried women and roughly 18,000 old-age pensioners under the older schemes. The pension goes straight to the bank account. Recipients should not be government employees or already drawing another state pension, and where a family has children aged 6 to 14, they must be enrolled in a recognised school. The exact age conditions for each category are laid down in the scheme guidelines.
