Chief Minister Arogya Arunachal Yojana (CMAAY)

A state top-up to Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY for Arunachal Pradesh residents, launched to extend enhanced cashless health cover beyond what the central scheme alone provides — both AB-PMJAY and CMAAY together give eligible families a genuinely higher coverage limit than either scheme would offer on its own, addressing the reality that serious hospitalisation costs can exceed PM-JAY's base cover even for otherwise-eligible families.

What this scheme offers

Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY's ₹5 lakh annual cover is substantial, but a serious hospitalisation — a major surgery, an extended ICU stay, cancer treatment — can still exceed that limit even for a family that's otherwise fully eligible. CMAAY exists to close that specific gap: a state top-up layered on top of PM-JAY, so that eligible Arunachal Pradesh families get meaningfully more combined coverage than either scheme provides on its own, reducing the chance that a genuinely severe medical event still leaves a family facing costs beyond what insurance covers.

Who is eligible

  • Resident of Arunachal Pradesh, per the scheme's eligibility criteria (generally aligned with PM-JAY eligibility or the state's own criteria).
  • Treatment sought at an empanelled hospital.

Documents required

  • Aadhaar card
  • Ayushman Bharat/CMAAY card, once issued
  • Residential proof (Arunachal Pradesh domicile)

How to apply

  1. Check your eligibility and enrollment status at your local health centre or Common Service Centre.
  2. Register for CMAAY if not already covered, alongside your PM-JAY enrollment where applicable.
  3. For treatment, visit an empanelled hospital and present your card.
  4. Approved treatment is cashless — the hospital settles directly with the combined scheme coverage.
  5. Contact the Department of Health and Family Welfare for questions about your specific coverage limit under both schemes combined.
