CM Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan (CMAAA)

A self-employment scheme for educated unemployed youth in Assam aged 28-40 (up to 43 for some categories), offering ₹2 lakh to ₹15 lakh to set up a new enterprise — half as an outright grant, half as an interest-free government loan — open to anyone from Class 10 pass to professional-degree holders across sectors including agriculture, dairy, poultry, garments and packaging.

What this scheme offers

Most self-employment schemes cap out at a few lakh rupees — enough for a very small operation, not enough to build something that genuinely competes or employs others. CMAAA is built for a bigger ambition: ₹2 lakh to ₹15 lakh for educated unemployed youth in Assam aged 28-40 (extended to 43 for some categories) to set up a new enterprise, with half the amount as an outright grant and half as an interest-free government loan. It's deliberately broad on qualification — anyone from a Class 10 pass to a professional-degree holder can apply — and covers a wide sweep of sectors from agriculture and dairy to garments, packaging and fabrication.

Who is eligible

  • Assam resident aged 28 to 40 (up to 43 for specified categories).
  • Educated unemployed youth, Class 10 pass or above.
  • Proposing a viable new enterprise in an eligible sector (agriculture, horticulture, poultry, dairy, goatery, piggery, fishery, packaging, garments, fabrication, hardware, and similar).
  • Meets the eligibility criteria set by the Directorate of Employment and Craftsmen Training.
