What this scheme offers
Having built Nijut Moina into a genuine success story for girls, Assam extended the same logic to boys with Nijut Babu Asoni, launched in February 2026 just ahead of the state elections. It targets first-year undergraduate and postgraduate boys from economically underprivileged backgrounds — around 47,395 students in its first round — with monthly financial assistance meant to prevent the same kind of financial-pressure dropout that Nijut Moina addresses for girls, rather than assuming boys don't face comparable barriers to staying in higher education.
