What this scheme offers
Bihar gives girls in government schools money to buy a school uniform, paid directly into a bank account rather than as cloth. For Classes 1 and 2 it is ₹600 a year, for Classes 3 to 5 it is ₹700, and for Classes 6 to 8 it is ₹1,000. The uniform schemes began in 2008-09 to keep girls in school, and in March 2026 the Education Department sent ₹1,047 crore to more than 93 lakh elementary students under the girls' and general uniform schemes. There is no form to fill in — the school submits the list — so the thing that matters is that the bank and Aadhaar details the school holds for your daughter are correct and match.
