Mukhyamantri SC/ST Medhavriti Yojana (Bihar)

One-time merit awards for SC and ST students who pass Matric (₹10,000 first division, ₹8,000 second) and for SC/ST girls who pass Intermediate (₹15,000 and ₹10,000), with no income limit.

What this scheme offers

Bihar's Medhavriti Yojana is a one-time merit award for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students, and it works at two levels. At Matric (Class 10), SC and ST students — boys and girls — receive ₹10,000 for a first division and ₹8,000 for a second. At Intermediate (Class 12), the award is for SC and ST girls only: ₹15,000 for a first division and ₹10,000 for a second. There is no income limit, and the money goes to the student's bank account by direct transfer. Applications are made on the Medhasoft portal each year, shortly after results; the same portal also hosts Bihar's other merit incentives, including the Kanya Utthan awards for girls.
