What this scheme offers
Deendayal Upadhyay Bhoomihin Krishi Majdoor Kalyan Yojana pays ₹10,000 a year, by direct transfer, to landless agricultural labourer families in Chhattisgarh. It is the renamed Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Bhoomihin Krishi Majdoor Nyay Yojana, which paid ₹7,000; the new government raised the amount and put the Revenue and Disaster Management Department in charge. About 5.6 lakh registered families are expected to benefit, with roughly ₹562 crore set aside. Besides farm labourers, the department's list of eligible occupations includes forest-produce collectors, shepherds, carpenters, blacksmiths, cobblers, barbers and washermen from landless families. The scheme is for landless households — families that already receive support as landowning farmers are served by separate schemes.
