What this scheme offers
Chhattisgarh calls itself the 'Rice Bowl of India' for good reason, and Krishak Unnati Yojana is built around that identity — paddy procurement at ₹3,100 per quintal, for up to 21 quintals per acre, a rate the BJP promised as part of 'Modi Ki Guarantee' ahead of the December 2023 government change. The new administration's very first Good Governance Day, 25 December 2023, saw ₹3,716 crore transferred to 1.3 million farmers to clear two years of bonus payments the previous government hadn't disbursed. The scale since has been genuinely large: 24.75 lakh farmers sold a record 14.492 lakh metric tonnes of paddy in the 2023-24 season alone, worth ₹31,913 crore in support price plus a further ₹13,320 crore paid as the differential top-up between the old and new procurement rates.
