What this scheme offers
Launched on 1 March 2024, Mahtari Vandan Yojana pays ₹1,000 a month (₹12,000 a year) directly to the Aadhaar-linked bank account of every eligible woman in Chhattisgarh, with the explicit goal of improving women's health, nutrition and financial decision-making power within the household. Over 68 lakh women across all 33 districts currently benefit, and by April 2026 each active beneficiary had received a cumulative ₹26,000 across 26 monthly installments. The state has declared 2026-27 "Mahtari Gaurav Varsh" (Year of Mother's Pride) and raised the scheme's annual budget to ₹8,200 crore.
