What this scheme offers
Rather than a single scholarship scheme, DNH&DD runs a genuinely broad bundle of education support under its combined SCs, OBCs and Minorities budget head — pre-matric and post-matric scholarships, scholarships specifically for minority students, free school uniforms, and free textbooks for SC/ST students. Different components serve different needs: the uniforms and textbooks remove an upfront, one-time cost barrier, while the scholarships provide ongoing support through the school or college year.
