What this scheme offers
Running since 2012 under Goa's Directorate of Women & Child Development, Griha Aadhar pays monthly financial assistance directly to homemaker women — those not engaged in any paid government, semi-government, or private employment. The scheme has seen its amount revised over time; while some sources cite the original rate of ₹1,500/month, more recent guidance describes ₹2,500/month — confirm the current figure directly on the official portal or with your local WCD office, since this detail has changed. The payment is designed to give economic recognition and a degree of financial independence to women whose household labour would otherwise go entirely unpaid.
Who is eligible
- Married women, aged 18 and above (some sources specify 15+ years of residency in Goa rather than age — confirm current criteria).
