What this scheme offers
A quietly significant quality-of-life change for farming families: before this scheme, agricultural feeders typically got power at night, meaning a farmer either irrigated in the dark — genuinely hazardous with electrical equipment — or left the pump running unattended and hoped nothing went wrong. Kisan Suryoday Yojana re-routes three-phase power to agricultural connections during the day, from 5 AM to 9 PM, so irrigation becomes a normal daytime task, coordinated with actual working hours rather than fought against them.
Who is eligible
- Farmer in Gujarat with a registered agricultural electricity connection in an area covered by the scheme's rollout.
- Connection under the relevant discom (PGVCL, UGVCL, DGVCL, or MGVCL).
Documents required
- Electricity connection details
- Aadhaar card
- Land records
How to apply
- No individual application is typically needed — the scheme is implemented by upgrading feeder infrastructure district by district.
- Check with your local discom (PGVCL/UGVCL/DGVCL/MGVCL) office whether your area has been covered under the scheme's rollout.
- Once your feeder is converted, daytime power supply for irrigation becomes available automatically for registered agricultural connections.
- Report any supply issues to your discom's helpline.
