What this scheme offers
Farm power in Haryana, and in much of India, has traditionally shared the same distribution infrastructure as residential and commercial electricity — which means agricultural feeders often get whatever capacity is left over after other demands are met, resulting in erratic supply that doesn't line up well with when crops actually need irrigation. The 2026-27 budget's answer is structural rather than incremental: a dedicated electricity distribution company built specifically for farmers, covering over 7 lakh agricultural consumers across 5,084 feeders, aimed at giving farm power its own priority rather than competing for capacity within a shared system.
Who is eligible
- Farmer in Haryana with a registered agricultural electricity connection.
- Connection covered under one of the 5,084 feeders being brought under the new Agri Discom structure.
Documents required
- Electricity connection details (K-number)
- Aadhaar card
- Land records
How to apply
- No new application is typically needed if you already have a registered agricultural electricity connection — the restructuring applies to existing connections.
- Confirm with your local power utility office whether your feeder has been transitioned to the new Agri Discom structure.
- Report persistent supply issues to your local Haryana Power Utilities office once the transition is complete in your area.
- Check official updates on the Agri Discom rollout timeline for your district.
